Moving people and things

acatech – the NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING - represents the German scientific and technology communities at home and abroad. It is an autonomous, independent and non-profit organization. Prof. Dr. Michael ten Hompel of the Fraunhofer IML is one of the members.

acatech sees itself as a flexible working academy that brings brilliant minds from science and business together for selected subjects. The association supports policy-makers and society, providing qualified technical evaluations and forward-looking recommendations. Moreover, it is the objective of acatech to support knowledge transfer between science and business and to promote young scientists and engineers. The Academy’s projects cover three key areas: education and communications technology, energy, resources and sustainability..

»People have always wanted to move things. Logistics also strives to plan and organize these movements correctly, efficiently and sensibly. It is good to see that the subject of logistics has also arrived in the acatech network.«
