The Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML is taking part in this project with a focus on the two key research fields of COASTER and Fraunhofer ProductionPad:
The Fraunhofer ProductionPad can be used to operate assistance systems for optimizing the planning and control of production logistics and for monitoring production facilities by means of sensor technology. The Pad allows users to apply their cognitive and planning experience to actively influence decisions that are required in the production process. It is a mobile device which accesses a cloud-based platform for production and logistics as well as the IT services the platform provides.
Another possibility for integrating people in production is delivered by the Coaster®, a prototype demonstrator for displaying machine and process parameters.
