ETP ALICE

Meeting point Europe 4.0

European Technology Platforms (ETP) are industry-driven interest groups which develop integrated strategies for research, innovation and market development. ETP ALICE, or the Alliance for Logistics Innovation through Collaboration in Europe, was founded in 2013. Fraunhofer IML and EffizienzCluster LogistikRuhr both campaigned to get ETP ALICE established.
Today, both institutions are committed to the interests of logistics and logistics companies at all levels. These include a steering group for strategic decisions and the following five working groups: “Sustainable, safe and secure supply chains”, “Corridors, hubs and synchromodality”, “Information systems for inter-connected logistics”, “Supply chain coordination and collaboration” and “Urban Logistics”. The working groups cover all possible logistical applications and underlines ETP’s broad range of activities.

This is all about ensuring that logistics companies’ research requirements are taken into consideration in European calls for tender, and in particular within the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon 2020.

»Nowadays, managing complete and complex value added networks has become a matter of course for logistics companies in Germany. However, this means that technologies and processes have to undergo continuous further development. Our commitment in ETP ALICE means we can pave the way for innovations in logistics.«
